Mission Together Short Story Contest winner!
Two weeks have passed since the deadline for our short story contest. We were amazed by the feedback – we have received an overwhelming 21 entries, all of them being a joy to read. Thank you all so much for your interest and your dedication!
Our jury has now reviewed all the short story entries for our contest, and come up with a winner. It was a tough and very close decision, but we’re pleased to announce that the winner is Emily Randall’s “One easy trick to creating Inter-Planetary Unity”, with Nicole Winchester’s “The last time” coming in as a close second, and Justine Jones’ “War changes you” in third place.
Emily is a software developer who specializes in user-centered design and accessibility. They currently work for Google on one of the many Search teams, which is both exciting and rather nervewracking, but they can’t imagine doing anything else. In their free time, they enjoy reading, running, hiking, and generally exploring the outdoors. They’re also an avid larper, and get much of their inspiration for writing from the stories that they play out in the games.
Their stories have been published by Future SF, Zombies Need Brains, and other venues. They can be found at www.emily-randall.com. Their entry to our contest can be found on our blog.
Congratulations!
